Pansat 3500SD - Update EPG

Just hooked up a Pansat 3500SD and had the EPG listing channels the first day and turned it on last night and now the listings are blank. Do I have to do a scan, etc. to get the program guide to populate?

What satellite and channels aren't populating?

yes, which channels are you watching that show an epg? I can only name about 3 fta channels that have every had an epg, and I can tell you those were channels you are probably not talking about unless you are talking about some rare educational channels that are aimed at kindergartners.
