I'm still looking for a DTV receiver that is better suited (than my ViewSat PVR7000) to surfing the C Band and possibly offer some of the features to control my dish. Since the PanSat 2700A offers the H/V polarity control, while I us a seperate box to control the dish movement.

I have located a used PanSat 2700A in a package deal with a new Toroidal 55 dish The price is good. Not sure of the dish 'tyoe'. Might be a cool addition to a 'Dish Farm'.

My main concern is the 2700A. How do I determine it is a "CLONE" or I hear there are converted 2400 boxes, or something like that.

Do I have to open it up to determine what it is?? The seller is only a couple hours away and I would close the deal on his "door-step".

I would appreciate some "words of wisdom"..

Steve

I read something on the web about how you can tell a clone but can't remember where I read it. What I vaguely remember the real 2700A Pansat has a hologram sticker and the lettering is different on the front. I got mine right from Panarex so I know it's official.
