Hello and WELCOME to the SatelliteGuys.US FTA forum :wave

Have a look at the below info on the IA-5 (Telstar 5) satellite.

You need to enter the coordinates of a live TP./channel then point the dish until you see signal quality on your signal quality meter, signal strength means nothing.

http://www.lyngsat.com/ia5.html

http://www.dmsiusa.com/charts.htm

KU = 5 digit Freq. (30" dish)

C = 4 digit Freq. (6' dish)

Use the below channel to find the satellite.....

DFreq : 12177 MHz(V) SR : 22.998 Msps

I pointed the satellite, and i only got one channel that is chinese. I didn't understand when you said the signal strength doesn't matter.

Please any information will be very useful. :)

*Pointing Satellite*

How do you point your satellite 82.0 W,91.0 W, 95.0 W,97.0 W,101.0 W, and 117.0 W exactly.

Please any information will be helpful. :)

There are two signal meters, one is signal strength. The one you need to concentrate on is SIGNAL QUALITY.

Enter the coordinates of the channel you are looking for, slowly move the dish until you see signal quality, then peak the signal and get the maximum signal quality you can get. Let us know your zip code and we can give you the angles you need.

Its California 92316.

*Help*

Heres a setup for the Ku Band, but i don't know what 2040 is:
Programming the digital channels using the KU Band
An alternative approach to testing the unit is to keep the C Band connection connected to the old analog receiver. Connect the Ku band directly the the "DIGITAL" input of the 2040. You can loop through to LNBB. Please note that there might be no analog Ku signal on the satellite.
Move the dish using the old analog receiver to TELSTAR 5 and set it to channel 8 (AB News feed which is Even polarity) and proceed to program the unit as described in the TO CONFIGURATION submenu. Program frequency 12152H SR=20000. You should receive 8 digital channels, Arabic, Thai, Chinese, Iranian).

I need help. :)

*Which Satellite*

When PSB put El Skew well i need to know if El stands for Elevation and Skew stands for Skew and i need to know if this information is for dish 500 or dishpro because i have dishpro right now.

Please any information will be very helpful. :)

Yes, El is Elevation. Skew is Skew!

You will need a 30" dish and KU LNBF for most FTA channels.

*Ku Band*

I have a Dual Pol.LNBF
Freq.:11.70-12.20 GHz
I.F.: 950-1450 MHz
L.O.: 10.75 GHz
Is this Ku Band LNBF?

Please any information will be very helpful. :)

Does this LNBF pick up the signal for china? If it doesn't want LNBF does?

Please any information will be very helpful. :)

That LNBF will work for T5 and other FSS FTA signals.

You need at least a 30 inch (76 CM) dish... Larger would be better (36 inch/90 CM or 1 meter).

*No Signal and Quality*

My Ku Band satellite has all the Chinese channels, but it shows no signal and quality.

Please any information will be very very helpful. :yes

This goes to all the people who can help me including PSB.

Please i need this A.S.A.P. :no

*Oops*

Oops, the question i asked you was the wrong question. Heres the right question. I already loaded all my Chinese channels, but there is no picture and sound. I don't know whats wrong.

Please if you know about anything or have any suggestions please post it in my thread. :yes

Are you not getting any quality? If not, your dish may not be pointed correctly. Be sure you are using an active transponder to check for quality and to peak your dish.

What satellite are you trying to hit? Telstar 5 @ 97w?
