I had been having a problem with some channels (notably The Tube and The Pentagon Channel on G10R) not having the audio in sync. Well today i found the fix to the problem.

There is a setting under "edit channel" in the satworks 3618 that is called PCR ID. PCR stands for Program Clock Rate. Apparently when some channels are "blind scanned" the PCR ID is not scanned correctly.

What I have done is changed the default PCR ID on the offending channels from 8191 to the same value as the VID (Video ID), and VOILA, now both The Tube and The Pentagon Channel have audio in sync with the video : )

Now if only i could get the signal quality a little higher on the weak transponders on g10 I would be all set. I have tried peaking my dish, playing with scew and freq. settings on my reciever and still get no higher than 39% SQ on The Tube, while other transponders on that sat i can get up to 65% SQ. Shoulda bought the 1 meter dish instead of the 76cm :-(

Anyways, hope this helps someone else out : )

Thanks for the tip. I have noticed this on a couple of channels of my Pansat 2500a. I'll have to double check the settings.
I've noticed this on several network broadcast stations too, maybe they need your help :haha

Yep, it works.

The Tube was working for me, but Pentagon wasn't.

I have a Pansat, so I just did an "advanced search" where you can type in the PIDS
typed them in and scanned...got video but no audio :(
Then I realized I put in the wrong audio PID (good job you dumb donkey)
redid it and now it works :)

only R audio though

Thanks for figuring this out for us :D:D

Hey Iceberg, glad i was able to contribute something back to you folks after all of the help you have given me in setting up my FTA system.
Have a great day,
Thomas

Thomas, I've always wondered what PCR was but never got around to looking it up. Now I see its usefulness, I think I'll add the PCR value of all channels to the ftalist.com channel list. Thanks for the info. :)

No good for me: Pentagon

I tried this for the Pentagon channel on my Traxis 2500 -- it didn't help.

Before changing, however, I did notice that the program catches up to the lips on it own, then falls behind.
