What about the Joeys?

Physically plugging in (2) OTA tuners can certainly be done, but doesn't mean the software will do anything with the 2nd stream. On the other hand, they do have the s/w code that can do it. The 722k has a single input that's split internally and the s/w reads it as if it were (2) streams.Simple question or not. Hopper has more then one USB port can't you just use two tuners for a double?

The 722k OTA module has two actual tuners split off a single antenna feed.Physically plugging in (2) OTA tuners can certainly be done, but doesn't mean the software will do anything with the 2nd stream. The Joeys can access the OTA module thru the Hoppers, just like they access the Hopper satellite tuners.

The hopper has the hard drive and runs all the live tv and DVR functions. I don't think plugging the OTA tuner into the Joey would work. Why would you want to anyways?
KenSoren said:My guess would be due to the antenna lead-in being closer to the Joey??
I don't use HD as a criteria. There's a good bit of SD stuff that I watch that DISH doesn't carry (or even have guide data for) in my market. If Dish carried all of my locals in HD it wouldn't be an issue, but they don't, plus some channels they don't offer at all.
Sounds like a large barrel of cow chips to me.I am told it is that big because it has a brand new next generation ota tuner that is the most sensitive tuner available.
I've spent half an hour searching the forum but can't find the picture that Scott posted of the OTA unit. Anyone point me in the right direction?

LOL Gary, that is great!
and humorless pricks. Now that we know the world is full of a$$ holes...
MikeD-C05 said:That sucks if only one ota tuner. It looks like a big step backward . We are back to a single ota tuner like the 622/722 receivers. Add to that the hopper integration is not true integration, and you can only switch to what hopper you want to watch, and this is disappointing. Looks like I will stay with the 722k for now or look at the competition if I want true whole house dvr.
With PTAT though, The OTA would only be needed for the sub channels really. Granted, you could only watch or record one, but at least you could get to them.
