OTA Picture Formats

FYI - Am new to this forum & have had MANY issues with getting voom installed.
At first didn't have ANY OTAs, now got the installer here to fix, but for some reason, am getting a black box surrounding my OTA channels..
Any one experiencing this issue where the picture is 'surrounded' by the black box/border?
Can it be fixed?

I know most networks broadcast black bars on the sides when the material is SD and not HD. ANd you cannot get rid of them without expensive additional equipment. You need to check the channel when its primetime and they are showing an HD program.
