Im wanting to see if i can use an h10 without a sat or service to use as a "digital converter" pretty much, i know the hr10 can but its tivo based and its would be kind of big with its dvr function being uselss as it would need dvr service, and the h20 isnt an option because it needs sat and service. another reason id like to use it like this is due to the familiar interface and the oh so wonderful remote, also does its tuner support both atsc and ntsc or just atsc? because if so i could also use it for my home made cable system

The H10 series only supports ATSC 1.0 for OTA. I'm pretty sure it also needs a satellite connection and access card to boot up though.

You'd have to go back to one of those HD receivers from the early 2000s like the RCA DTC-210 to get something that also supports NTSC and doesn't require a satellite connection.

ntsc isnt a requirement, its just a plus, and are you sure it would need sat? from what ive seen it would just not have guide data
