OTA Locals

With my bill hitting nearly $100 even after downsizing my package twice over the last 5 years, I am wondering what else I can do to lower my bill.

How about dropping locals? I have a Hopper and the OTA gizmo. Will I loose the guide data if I drop the locals? And how about the DishPrime Time where it records all the network shows does that go too, or can it get that same feature OTA?

Nowadays the guide data remains once you drop satellite locals.

No, that feature is gone because the Hopper uses 1 transponder to record 4 satellite locals at once. In principle, you could still record two locals at once, but so far as I know, that is not yet a feature of PTAT. You also lose the autohop feature.

True but I can confirm that Auto skip feature of Prime time Anytime still works on recorded ota shows. As long as you have prime time anytime enabled it will put auto skip on the ota shows recorded from the day before, if your sat locals haven't negotiated a delay of so many days before Auto skip works. In my area of Beaumont/ Pt. Arthur ,Texas we have no delays on the auto skip feature. So if you want to take advantage of the auto skip that you are already paying $15.00 a month for with the hopper 3, follow my lead.

Yes. I dropped locals last summer and it works consistently.
