As I understand it, ultimately I should have a coax from each LNB at the dish running to a powered multiswitch (to furnish 18v to each LNB) which would be located, because it is powered, somewhere out of the weather and nearer the receiver. Then, from the multiswitch, I would have one coax to the receiver. I have ordered the LNB's and scored a multiswitch on ebay that I will modify.
My temporary problem(s) are; no power at the dish and only have one coax currently available from the dish location running inside. I will, of course, eventually be running a second coax from the dish.
Here are my question(s). Is there any way to temporarily combine the two LNB's at the dish (with no power) and then use the single existing coax to get it to the receiver? I would only using this configuration until I can bury a second coax and new actuator wires. Its going to be about a 150' run. I realize that in this configuration I would not be getting 18v to each LNB but its only so I can get the dish set up.
If there is is a way to do this with a switch, what do I need?
Or any better way to handle it? All suggestions are welcome.
Thanks,
