Some sad news to report to game show fans. Original "Family Feud" emcee Richard Dawson died from cancer yesterday in Los Angeles, California. He was 79 years old. He's remembered as Newkirk on "Hogan's Heroes" on CBS from 1965-1971 along with CBS 1970s incarnation of "Match Game" which led him to rival ABC to host "Family Feud" from 1976-1985. Then he came back to the Feud to replace Ray Combs (who taken his own life two years later) in 1994, but cancelled in 1995 due to O.J. Simpson coverage. He was married twice. And was The Kissing Bandit. He was born in the UK by the name of Colin Emm. He was married twice. He never kissed girls again after marrying his second wife in 1991 after they met while she was a contestant on "Family Feud" in the early 1980s.

Ironic, Richard Dawson and Ray Combs both died on June 2nd (16 years apart). Dawson is the 2nd deceased "Family Feud" host. Now the Feud tradition passed on my favorite comedian Steve Harvey. RIP The King of the Feuds Richard Dawson (1932-2012) :(

I wish GSN reairs his Feud in memory of him.
