I just ordered a 622 to replace our 211.

Seeing the neat things at the Team Summit and talking with everyone really talked me into upgrading to it.

I had been thinking about it for a while. When I called DISH on the phone to order it the lady said they could do it for $149.

It gets installed this Thursday.

I also upped our programming from the AT250 to the AEP.

After the CSR told me what our bill was before and after AEP, our bill only went up $3 a month. I figured with the new DVR being added to our account with our current DVR, we could save some on our bill. :)

I love my 622 and the AT250. How did it work that it was only $3 for AEP? Id love that one even more :D

I have 2 622's, and a 721. I refuse to have a NON-[PD]VR receiver in the house.

The 622 is, by far, the best DVR I've had. I love the name-based recording.

The 721's days are numbered to when I can convince Dish to let me have a 3rd 622.

We had the AT250, 2nd receiver, HBO, and the DVR fee for the 625.

Not sure how the AEP ended up only being $3 more. I know the DVR fee went away with AEP.

Maybe thats it. I might call em today to see if I can add the AEP and keep my rebate deal. Thanks for the help.

She did say that I would keep any credits I had coming to me, which included the DISH home protection plan and $10 off our bill I was getting in the first place.

Don't let them take that away from you. :)

Basically for $3 more a month we get Showtime, Starz, Cinemax, and the HD versions of those channels, so 3 more HD channels. Even my wife said she thought it was worth it.

Thats what Im curious about is the HD programming. I looked and after my rebate expires Ill be paying $87 a month so its smart, but I cannot tell if the $90 includes hd. As far as I can tell it does not which I do understand from a cost point. So with hd it should be 109.99, or maybe im wrong. I sent them an email about what it includes.

$109 sounds about right with the HD. Is that including your discount already?

No, thats the $89.99 + the $20. So technically I'd be paying $89.99 for 10 mo's. Have to think about it. I always keep hbo which I prob dont watch enough, I actually watch the encore's more. Might not be wroth any cost to add show and cine because I prob wont watch them. Starz is pretty good though.

I wonder what the cost would be to replace our 625 with a second 622?

Yeah. Since we're on the lease program they are sending a box for me to send the 211 back to them.

They will let me replace the 625 with a second 622, but it took an email to the ceo address to do it. I called about it and the CSR insisted I couldn't have more than 3 tuners leased at once. When I brought up that we have a 625 and are getting a 622, he tried to backpedal saying I had to wait another year.

I'm still thinking about it, but it will cost me another $149. They are billing me for the first one. I'm just afraid of having a $400+ bill, so I may wait another month or two to get the second one.

I'd like the second output so that I can watch TV in my computer room undisturbed.

I had an install time of 12-5 for today. When I did the initial order for the 622 I asked that I be set to one of the last appointments for the day, as I get off of work at 2.

The tech calls me at 11:55 and tells me he's on his way. I had asked that the tech call me before he left to come to my house. I tell him what the CSR told me and what was supposed to be on my notes. He said there's nothing he could do. He called the install company, Video Now, and they said there's nothing they could do. He told me I was his only install for the day.

I called the main DISH number and spoke with the CSR who said that there was no guarantee I could get someone there between 3-5 or be one of the last on their schedule. Had the first CSR told me this I would have taken a 1/2 day off at work. I asked the CSR if I could just be shipped the DVR, as it's just replacing a receiver. She tried to tell me I had to have it installed because of a new dish. I told her I didn't need a new dish, that all I was doing was doing a replacement receiver. I finally got her to say she would have the DVR shipped to me. She said it would take 3-5 business days. I'm not happy that my install was basically cancelled. Both the installer and CSR didn't apologize for my inconvenience.

It's been 2.5 years since MPEG4 came out and I still havent upgraded lol. I wish I had a heads up on promotion changes starting June 1st. I'm thinking it's gonna get better.

I hear 8-track car stereos still work pretty good. Although... I dont think Brittany Spears released any of her songs on it. Not that anyone would be missing *that*.
