I took the bait several years ago with an Acoustimass speaker system, then had to buy a subwoofer to make it half-way decent.

well if it's any consolation I bought used for $300.00. Not a bad system. Sound wise its very ordinary but for my small family room, its fine. I use the downstair's 46" with sony surround for movies.
I guess my questions was am I losing any sound quality using RCA R/L into the Bose instead of optical?
