only some channels come through

I have my dtv set up and the signal comes through for only some channels. I have premier packaging starz etc, but some of those channels an even some of the more basic channels don't come through and say check signal.

* I have reset the receiver and even did a hard reset and reconnect and removal of the card...nothing works.

What are your signal strengths, and if exisiting cable was used, was it properly chased to ensure there were no bad splices or splitters in the line?

there is a bad connector somewhere or a bad cable....losing some signal

99% of service problems are connectors...
