Hi,

I am only reveiving HD channels on the TV's that are hooked up to HD receivers and on my TV's that are hooked up to Non HD receivers I am getting searching for Satellite or pixilating picture.
I have Directv coming tomorrow to look at the problem. Any ideas?

What is your signal strength on all satellites? This sounds like an alignment issue. Most of the HD channels come off the 103 satellite -- maybe signal strength is okay on that one and poor or non-existant on the other sats that carry the SD programming.

It depends.. could be a bad switch, bad lnb or an alignment issue. Or trees? just went on a svc call today that the winter install lost to leaves :( oddly enough she was only getting 75% on 103 and 0's on rest,... it was a clear LOS issue though.

If you have an older HD dish with the "sidecar", if the LNB is bad he will more than likely have to replace the entire dish.

How is your Dish installed..Roof/Pole/Eve/Wall??

Jef,

My Satellite is postioned on the roof with 4 supports. I had the person who installed the dish come back to try to fix the problem. He checked the multi-switch, lnb's and repositioned the dish. I think the dish is the most current.

He actaully made it worse. It was at least working some of the time, now I can only get HD stations.

He said I have a clear line of sight to the satellite.

I am hoping that the Directv tech (coming today) can find the problem.

Thanks for your reply,

KarenA

I'm having the same issue and I allso have a tech coming. I have found that when I tap the back of my LNB my SD chanels come back at a signal strength of 98, but then slowly starts to lose the signal again. I suspect something wrong with the one year old LNB.

I had the Directv Tech here. He changed a cable fixing and it worked for about 15 minutes. He thinks it is a short in a wire coming from my LNB to my Multi-Switch.

Please tell me if you get a solution to your problem.

Thanks
KarenA
