I upgraded to Hopper last weekend and there is one new feature on it that I just absolutely love! I have a timer setup to record all espisodes of "The Big Bang Theory" on any channel. When you go to the DVR folder for "The Big Bang Theory" to view all the episodes it displays the Episode # on the list!! Not only does that, you can also sort the list by Episode #!!

This may seem like a minor detail but I think it is huge. On my old 722 I had actually recorded all these episodes before but I gave up on trying to watch them because it was such a pain trying to find the next episode to watch.

Thanks Dish, I like this!

Yes this is definitely a huge feature that I noticed when I first got the Hopper. It really comes in handy for playing shows in order, and deleting duplicate episodes. Surprised all the DVRs don't have this functionality (the 922 does.)

I don't believe this is 100% reliable. I have seen some shows where the numbers are out of order but clearly the progression of the story line isn't. I rely more on the air date.

Yeah I have noticed this too.. Sometimes it does show the episode number next to it sometimes it does not then you have to look at the air date..

Me too. I have found DISH episode numbers to be quite unreliable.

The eipisode number comes from the show. The problem is that shows are not always shown in order. This is especially true for some new shows that are trying to find an audience. Sometimes they jump ahead a couple episodes to try to get the audience's attention. Then they go back to the skipped episodes. Obviously doesn't work with some shows, but I've seen it more than once. This is also evidenced when you compare the eipisode numbers to the same information on Amazon, iTunes or Hulu+. The episode numbers usually match what dish shows, but they show dates that don't appear to be in order (because they were shown out of order).

722k also shows episode numbers.watched old episodes of criminal mind in order.but it worked better using the air date instead.I've seen an instance with a newer air date with an older episode number.

Trying to understand PTA
