Well, I'm making the switch to DTV. I hope I'm not disapointed.

My only real problem with Dish was a dispute over my bill. I changed programming packages in February. I had a written quote for the amount of my new package, and each of my bills since February have been any where from $10-$15 a month more than my quote. I tried to resolve this with three CSR's and an account specialist but none of them would honor my quote. I then e-mailed ceo at echostar.com on June 27. As of today July 5th I have not received a reply.

So, on to DTV

I wound up getting two HD receivers(H20) one DVR(R15) and a standard receiver for $199 up front with a $100 instant rebate, $100 credit on my first bill, and another $100 credit of $10 a month for ten months.

I also got an additional $10 a month credit for an additional eight months after that, plus I used a co-worker's account for a referral credit and we both get a $5 a month credit for ten months.

I'm getting the Plus HD/DVR package with the Sports Pack and HD access (which is half the cost of the Dish HD fee)

my condolences ahead of time.

Yeah I figured there would be a few of these.
I guess there is no perfect provider.
For the programming I prefer, staying with Dish just became too expensive.

Don't listen to Vurbano, we all ignore him. :D

:welcome
Welcome to the group.
Enjoy your stay and ask all the questions you like.

Another soul saved. Yup, Vurbano could use some serious council. Nothing ever positive to say but yet he continues to pay D* every month and I would bet, on time too!

Edit: Wait, I see that Vurbano will finally be leaving D* on July 27th. Beautiful! He sticks around complaining for years throughout the implementing of D*s plan to step up the HD world, for everyone by the way, not just themselves. And just when it's about to become reality, bye bye. Dude, forget about what I posted earlier, all the council in the world isn't going to help. I digress, welcome Apace!
