or am I stuck with having dish replace with another 922. I have loved the 922 since I upgraded when they first came out but now I have had 2 that the hard drive failed and the last two, one which I have now will not stay connected to the internet (which is hardwired to the internet) and then of course will not connect when I try to use Dish Anywhere or if I try to use the Dishperks I have to reset and hope it stays connected long enough to download. Also the DVR on this latest unit will freeze occasionally during playback. Think I stand a chance to upgrade for free, I have been a Dish customer since almost there beginning? Maybe a Dirt Team member could advise me

I just did this myself about 3 weeks ago. Set it up via chat on the website. It was free for regular Hopper and $100 for Hopper with Sling. I complained about my 922 woes, long time customer, etc. and they waived the fee. Hopper with Sling (replacing the 922) and 2 Joeys (replacing a pair of 722k). No cost. (I do have the maintenance plan.) Did need new 2 year commitment. Of course, your mileage may vary depending who you chat with. Also... Unless you specify "with Sling" you will get the version without.

Can you please email me your account or phone number and the four digit pin number and I will be happy to assist you with the information you are wanting? Thank you!

I am running a VIP622DVR and it is really starting to get old. I have a few questions for the Hopper users. First does the Joey do a good job? We have the 622 and are currently splitting the signal (which is why we got this model) with our second tv in standard def. Can we move our saved tv and movies onto the Hopper? There is an external hard drive attached to the 622 can we just add this to the Hopper? It seems from the forums that many people are happy but I really don't want to get into something that will not be easy to use and may not be our answer. I would like to get this set up before football season and I respect the opinions of all of you (well most of you :)).

Thanx Mary for jumping in. Like I said I have been with you guys forever. My question is can I get a free upgrade to a Hopper with sling and a joey. I would luv to stick with what I have but I feel the 922"s may have run there course and Dish never came out with the internet stuff ect they had promised with this unit. I think I am on my 4th replacement and it is getting a little old. My account # is 8255909240090768. Looking forward to your reply

ghent99. the Hopper and Joey work great. About the only thing the Joey can't do (that the Hopper can) is picture-in-picture. Many of us found a slight improvement in HD quality. You can move your external hard drive to the Hopper with no problems, although some had problems early on transferring from the EHD to the Hopper. Just moving the EHD from the 622 was no problem.

When you get the Hopper and Joey, you'll be wondering why you waited so long.
