Official DISH Channel Request Thread

If it becomes a carriage fight between Dish and TWC I wouldn't care a bit if Dish drops it. I see where TWC is petitioning the people to ask the government to force the other provider to keep them on for safety reasons.
:facepalm

I certainly don't go to TWC for weather, although their app is not too bad.

Once I just stopped thinking of them as a source of weather info, I came to see a few of their programs are worth watching. Earthquake stuff has been pretty good. And of course, I'll watch anything on Katrina.

Blugras would like to have every HD channel that is available in the world. I'll just save him time by posting it for him.

Almost forgot, Apps. Lots and lots of Apps.

I use the weather.com site for most of my weather, and I will tune into TWC during hurricane season during an active impending storm. That's about it.

Hey Mike at Dish... I ventured over to the Direct TV forum with "Rumor Alert" thread dealing with Direct dropping TWC and Weather Nation being added. I waded through 11 pages to see responses... I found 1 positive response from someone about TWC, I found 26 responses saying, "Drop TWC" and many approving of Weather Nation... scattered in were some neutral comments... Very few people like the "Highway Thru Hell" those "Freaks of Nature" at TWC are venturing into since they aren't doing 24 hour weather...

It could be a good thing if D* dropped TWC.

Certainly, their claim of a public safety hazard ain't going nowhere but to the Comedy Channel. Or maybe a good SNL skit.

Wouldn't it be funny (& instructive) if in response to pleas to add pressure for carriage, people did just the opposite?

thanks Navychop, I just did that very thing on the email to representative at the "keeptheweatherchannel" site, and will follow up with my representative. What they need(ed) was competition from someone who does weather again. 20 years ago you could walk into any doctors office, and many businesses who featured a tv on, and TWC would be on. The forecast, then a zip around the nation with color grahics of towns and expected highs and low to some jazzy music. We left it on in the house for "noise". That is all gone, it a mess, a poor unrepairable damaged, mess...

I would like to suggest a new, low-priced basic programming package with:

The Heartland Package channels
Locals
Fox News
The new AccuWeather channel
Bloomberg
CSPAN
CSPAN2
Boomerang
Science
H2
FETV
PRST
Religious and PI channels

Priced like the Welcome Pack at $19.99/month

Won't happen unless they make a Canadian package (which if priced well I would subscribe to)

But the Canadian channels show US programming most of the time - we would either see a ton of programming blacked out or need a new channel specifically for export to the US.

BTW, I'd love to see Comcast-Philly added, though I honestly never expect Comcast to give it to Dish at any price. :(
