off topic question for the motor that moves both up and down as well as side ways

i was wondering which is the motor that moves up and down as well as sideways

i know the actuator moves left to right

but now that im here i was wondering about a motor for small 99cm dish


that could make it move up and down not just left and right



because i want to use the mediaportal software to do that movement on that dish

The satellites travel in a circular orbit, directly above and following the equator, at about 22 thousand miles. Different systems have been devised for people at different latitudes who want their dishes to follow that arc and bring in the satellites in it.

In Ku band systems, like your 99cm dish, often it is an offset dish and an HH motor. Look for STAB and SG products. They do what you describe, without having any separate motor that changes the elevation of the dish

The only dish motor I have seen that goes in both directions was a photo of a giant commercial dish. The motor system had big chains on it and it looked like it weighed a minimum of eight hundred pounds.
