Some I'm just curious, I'm an installer for DTV and been looking around this website (fairly new to this site) and have noticed on some occasion it becomes a heated discussion. So my question is where do you have your ODU mounted? Pole, roof, side of home, or do you have a make shift mount? I've came across a lot of off the wall mounts but I'm curious as to where most people prefer to or have their dish mounted.

Welcome to the Site !!!

Pole mount, this way I can get to it when the winter weather strikes, I have access to remove snow and ice.
If it's on the roof, no such luck.

Side of house is better yet, provided it's done right.

With the block construction here we almost always try for wall mount . Second choice is facia most are 2x8 lumber . Third is roof rare due to tile roofs .last is pole too hard to dig in western suburbs rock is only 6 to 8 inches under ground .you need a jackhammer to plant a tree. I do maybe one pole mount a year .

Wow! I do roughly 8-10 pole mounts a week! Here in Indiana you can almost always get down in the dirt however winter time we have to use a masonry bit and drill to break the ice. Mines on my roof only because of gas lines and I don't want a dish 6 feet away from my house (makes mowing an actual effort).

mine is on the edge of the roof...because thats the only spot for line of site (townhouse)

and its right next to the rest of the dish farm :)

Mine is on the back side of the roof on my detached garage, out of site, out of the yard, and easy to clean with a broom.

My neighbors get a better view of it than I do. I figure with all the leaves their tree drops in my yard it's fair.

Mine is actually on a POLE that goes above the roof line ! (16' pole)
Happens to be at the edge of my roof line and is also at a Flat section of the roof.

My dish is mounted to an arm bracket which is attached to the wooden backyard fence.

Man I love seeing the KA/KU's mounted that way! Everytime I roll to a call and see that I always ask myself "who thought this would be a good idea"!?
