O.T. A. HD antenna

What would be the best O.T.A. HD antenna so that I all of my TV's will get the channels? Would you suggest an outdoor or indoor.

Outdoor is better than indoor. Go to AntennaWeb punch in your Zip. That will tell you about what size antenna you will need, and which way it needs to be pointed. Keep in mind you may or may not also need a pre-amp to go with it. BTW. There is no such thing as an HD antenna, that's just a marketing catch phrase.

ChannelMaster 4228 antenna, ChannelMaster 777 preamp.
Small, easy to handle, relatively inexpensive and measurably the best.

You really need to know what frequencies. what direction, and how far away your local towers are. Go to antennaweb.org to find this info.

the 4228 is great if the transnmitters are tightly grouped. Not so great if they are scattered about. it gets for everything here and it si good but no antenna is best in all circumstances.

Thats why I always suggest getting a rotor with any outdoor antenna set up

It looks like your stations are all over the map. So a rotor is in order here. The 4228 would be the antenna of choice today. However some stations that are using UHF for digital broadcast now may be changing back to VHF after the analog shutdown. The 4228 is a very good UHF antenna with some decent gain in the higher VHF range. So just to future proof myself I would look for a good VHF/UHF combo. The same goes for a pre-amp. I would go with the 7777.

for a friend who lives off Tryon st.

Great idea if you only have one TV or the all are tuned to the same channel.

You can easily split the OTA signal if you need to and run to seperate TV's , most of the time towers are in the same general direction.

I live outside High Point (27265) and have the 4228 with the 777 pre-amp along with a CM rotor and I pull in all the Charlotte area stations as well as all the local stations with great signal strength on the HR-20 receiver. Today with the wind I am having occasional drop-outs, but still watchable.
