This is what I been waiting for. A blu-ray recorder with a hard drive to do my editing before burning a blu-ray blank disc. I want to be able to back up my hi-def content from 622s and the external hard drive to a blu-ray. Also have a blu-ray burner on my computer to back up my data and other things.

I had a ps3 since the ps3 launch date and I own one movie. The movie that came with my ps3. I been waiting for this.

I am drolling right now, A BD-Recorder finally, been looking for this for a long time, people kept telling me it wouldn't be out for a while, I can now finally record my NFL team games (The Patriots) .
I suppose you just connect it to the HR20-700 and hit record on the BD player/recorder and you are all set.

Heavie do you know the price? I expect it to be anywhere from 600-800$ at least, it maybe more, let me know if you can find any information on the price.

I bet its gonna be a lot more then that I say $1,500-2,000 when they first come out,

Nothing to laugh about, what I was saying was so I could record my favorite HD shows/football games on a BD Disk.
If you think you are going to buy that device and plug it into your HR20 and be able to burn HD programming onto BD then you are a fool. SD maybe but definately not HD. copy protection and encryption anyone? Now you may be able to pay 600 dollars for an R5000 mod R5000-HD High-Definition PVR
send live video it to a PC, as it records, for burning. But last time I checked they hadnt even got that to work yet and the idea that you think you can just plug it into your HR20 is something to laugh at. I spent hours and hours modifying my HR10-250 to do just what you want to do. Trust me, it aint possible yet with the HR20. (When it does happen you will here about it here first: HOWTO: Extract Video from the HR20 - DealDatabase Forum - Deals, Freebies, and TiVo & DirecTivo Hacking) And even when it is you will not simply be plugging in a BD burner. ROTFLMFAO:haha :haha

eh? It would make no sense then, the BD-recorder should have originally be made for record shows like TiVo. So I suppose as of now you are only going to be able to record OTA HD ?

The HR20 will not allow you to pass that either. If you want HD shows on BD go get a 622 and an R5000 mod, a PC and BD burner. OR cable and a new series 3 HDtivo you can mod.(I havent looked into the new HDtivo but you could modify the eariler models) or I suppose an ATSC OTA card for your PC.

We need a name!
