Note about the ad's

Hey guys, first all thank you to everyone who has voted on the if we should keep the ads between the threads issue.

I have made a decission to REMOVE the ads from between the threads.

I know many of you voted to KEEP the ads however I personally felt that the ads were distracting and were ultimately unnecessary.

I do appologize for any inconvience the ads may have caused you while they were there.

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and suggestions on the issue. As always your support is always appreciated! Thanks for being a SatelliteGuys member.

I know his situation doesn't match this, but this is what they told me as a DHA customer:

-- Be a Dish customer for 6 months or more
-- After cancelling, wait at least 3 months
-- Old account must have $0 balance
-- Any equipment needs to have been returned

If you meet those, you can return as a "returning DHA customer".

I, too, found them distracting. However, can't you keep them at the very top, bottom, or side of the page, so as to not lose the income potential?

Some of the ads were for illegal activites, like how to get satellite for free, that's another reason Scott took them down.

I did not find them offensive. Could Scott have been liable for the type of ads put up by google on this website?

I don't believe I would be liable, after all I have no control over what Google puts up for ads. Google has strict advertising guidelines, if you sppot anything illegal click on the words Ad By Google (or Ads by Gooooooogle) and you can actually report the illegal ads (and Google WILL remove them)

I noticed today (little bit ago) amongst all the Dish, Direct & Voom ads there is one for "have a leaky basement?"

How the heck did that show up?

I have gotten used to this now. It is not very intrusive. I say, keep it if it helps.
