"not recordable in +VR mode"

I'm new to this stuff, and I've search with no luck........what does this error message mean, ands can I get around it?

I have a Dish Network 522 DVR and a Phillips 3475 DVD recorder.

I have a 622 and a Philips 3475/37 DVD recorder.

You can't record PPV and certain Cinemax stuff to your DVD recorder due to Macrovision (do not copy) protection on your composite outs.
