222k receiver (installed 2 DEC); due to problems experienced, I had to reset system multiple times. In process, noticed there is NO smart card. I thought I read in another post or somewhere that if receiver doesn't need card, that's clearly stated in manual (it's not). I asked owner of install co. - he said, if there's no card in receiver, no, you don't need it. Given all the problems I've experienced since install, I just want to verify this. (If I do need - how do I obtain??) And, of course, one of my major concerns is if I cancel (which I don't plan to do) or Dish does future upgrade or exchange of card, I don't want to be billed in future for something I didn't receive.
