Well I called today about Moving my satellite dish. They quoted me $49. Thats cool. So just for sh^!s and Gigs I asked about upgrading my R15 for a HD DVR, He qoted me $262 . I was about to Sh^!.

$199 for the HD DVR
$49 for the install
and tax for the rest.

Have they gone mad?

I didn't even bother to say anything else , but good by!

Stone tell me they are not charging $49 extra to install these things too now.

Hemi whats your base package ? If you still hve the older plus dvr of plus hddvr plans it wont let you change.

What about the Total Choice or Total Choice Plus packages?

If I were to cancel my Extra Inning package, would they force me to go to Choice Extra?

He means your Base Pack. You can add and drop Premiums all you want.

All these companies be it Direct, Dish or Cable are all about maximizing profit. They make you jump through all kind of hoops to try to trick you up or discourage you so they get the most out of you. You have to be relentless and do what is necessary that they don't take advantage of you. A pain yes but it is what it is. I miss the days of c band. I can still sub for even a partial month with SRL. When the period is up the programming just stops You can choose auto renew or not. No fee's no hidden BS. And can do it online.

Wouldn't it make more sense to do this (like C band) Direct? The customers would be very happy I'm sure. Come on Direct take the bull by the horns and be the first one to offer what the consumer really wants. I bet if they did that they would get a hell of allot more converts. The customer is tired of all the tricks the cable type programming providers are pulling. Maybe we need some legislation passed, but hell the politicians are in it for there take too. so that won't work.

I think they just wnat you to call, just to pressre you into sticking with what you got.

I called up to drop Cinemax, They offered it to me for $5 instead of the $10 I was paying now, I said sure, He came back an said he couldn't give that to me because I get $10 off the sports pack. But its so funny because they are still Getting another $5 out of you.

This is not good IMO.
