With all the BEV activity moving satellites and transponders around, does anybody know the current status of their orbital fleet?
They started with Nimiq 1 at 91 degrees and added Nimiq 2 at 82 degrees to add HD and other programming. Then a few years ago, the acquired an old DirecTV satellite, moved it to 91 degrees and lit up 8 or 9 transponders on it that were on Nimiq 1. Now, have they acquired another DirecTV bird (renamed it Nimiq 4) and put it at 82 degrees? I'm not sure about this.
If true and there are 4 satellites in the two orbital slots, does Nimiq 4 have the same crappy footprint in most of the US as Nimiq 3? Or has Nimiq 4 have yet to launch?
