Nickelodeon To go dark for 3 hours Sat. 9/27

As part of the 5th annual World Wide Day of Play the Nickelodeon family of networks will be dark for 3 hours on Saturday 9/27 from 12-3 pm Eastern Time (9-12 Pacific). What is it like when they go dark? color bars or black screen?

I keep seeing notes like this too late to check it out during the event.

yeah, Nick, N, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Disney Channel, Baby First TV, Sprout Kids... you just have to pick the tv crack you want your kids to have!

Not really, my kids quickly discovered that the East & West feeds of Nick made it seem like the Day of Play was never there, since there blocks never overlapped.

The day of play is a very smart idea...they should shut down both feeds at the same time.

DVR's make this a non-issue.

We only let the kids watch an hour of TV a day but at least they get to pick their 3 favoite shows as they can usually watch 3 half hour shows in an hour by skipping the commercials.

ToonDisney still had normal programming on, we put the TV there for the youngest, as Noggin only had the "day of play" placard on.

It was pouring rain outside, so we weren't going out that day.

My oldest boy is, unfortunately he's on to Spongbob now.
And that's what was on Nick-West, while the other Nick stations were on the 3-hour break. When the Nick-West feed went to the break, he switched back to the East feed which was ending the break.
