I did a live chat on 7/25 and this is what she said

DISH Network is going to launch a number of national HD channels over the next few months, such as:
AMC (American Movie Classics) HD
BET HD
CMT (Country Music Channel) HD
HBO2 HD
IFC (Independent Film Channel) HD
MoreMAX HD
MTV HD
Nickelodeon HD
VH-1 HD

i asked for specific dates and she didnt or couldnt say
note that this was before 8/1

Well considering we did get the premium channels mentioned (plus some) I wouldn't rule out the possibility of getting some of these channels sooner-rather-than-later; however, we still have a few months left before the end of the year, so technically we could get these chans in December and Dish would have held up their end of the bargain.

My almost 2-year old loves Yo Gabba Gabba as well.. she knows all their names and when you ask her if she wants to eat you hear a 'YEAH!!!'. However, Linny, Tuck and Ming Ming in HD, wonder pets, yep. One day.

Dish has a recent retrans with showtime because it owns smithsonian. So I do not know why additional sho hds did not come online.

Just guessing, but they were probably anticipating their 3 months free for HBO and Starz that was to begin at the same time.

These new Turbo HD packages appear as though they can be purchased as add-ons to your basic "Americas" package or as stand alone. It would be cool if we could drop our America's package and just buy the stand alone HD package with the locals add-on to save some dough. Without Nick HD we can't do that because of the kids. I hope it happens soon!

As soon as Disney became available, I dropped our SD package and went all HD. They weren't thrilled about losing Nick, but I was willing to pull the trigger when Disney was available.
