One of my kids watches Nick Jr. during the day. Sometimes, it will break up every few seconds. I think the compression is too high. Eventually, it’ll reset and look good again. My SS is 99, and SQ is 85, so I don’t think that’s it. No other channels do it.

I have noticed that also...and on cartoon networks..commedy central and few other channels...my dish is 1.2 meter and my sig is s99 q99...

Unplugging and plugging back in the reciever is no help either

I've noticed the same thing happening on my system. I just wanted to throw this out to everyone because I think the problem is the LNB heating up. The reason I say this is, I have been a Orby subscriber for about 3 &1/2 months. It was installed in March 2019 when the weather was cool and worked fine then when the weather started heating up it started pixilating and some channels would go out completely.. This was happening just during the heat of the day--(11am-5pm), then at night the picture would be normal again. I first thought I was getting some type of microwave interference. I called Orby Tech and they sent out a technician who changed out the LNB which seems to have fixed the problem. I'm located in central NC. Does anyone recommend an Linear LNB that can run cooler than the Orby ? Please advise, thanks in advance.

Doubt that the original post problem is due to the LNBF or heat related. If so, all or half of channels would have this problem, since they are on two vertical transponders. LNBF failures would not affect individual services in a mux.
Heat affecting LNBF performance or signal loss is usually hardware related. Such as a bad solder joint, cracked PCB or if DRO type, bad tuning slugs.
Saw this pixelation a few months ago on HGTV. Agree that it is likely due to an aggressive compression setting as it was more noticeable during complex video. Use statistical multiplexing and my guess is that kids programming is further down the QC food chain than the money channels.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Has ANYBODY called and explained all this to Orby? Could very well be they don't even know it's an issue. If so, how would you expect it to just go away magically?
I've had to contact local OTA station engineers from time to time, and believe me, they don't even seem to WATCH their own stations! So, they don't know when things act up, until somebody calls or emails.
Could be the same for Orby.

I have a 90cm dish, and I have to say I haven't noticed any issues, it's been over 100 degrees here the past 3 days. I do notice that on SD channels, the compression being used is a bit much. Makes the SD channels look overly compressed, and creates a "soft" image. Hell, ill volunteer to call and complain. I have spare time to sit with tech support and chat about the issue.
They use two transponders, but HEVC compression, which means they can put three times as many on one. I would complain, but it’s the only channel I see it on. Plus, my kid doesn’t care. Most, if not all the others look really good.
I watch OTA channels off antenna because of cable company compression, is really bad on a few subs one is outright blurry it is bright and clear off antenna.
Bingo! We have a winner. Even with new compression schemes you still can't stuff 10 pounds of s**t in a 5 pound bag. If you do, something has to go and with stat mux some channels have to donate some of their low enough bitrate as it is. Just imagine if Orby could get another transponder for new channels, HD feeds of existing ones and or giving the current ones more bandwidth. For the average consumer they won't notice a thing on PQ they just notice how much more money is left in their wallet.They have all their channels on two transponders so that about says it all.
