NHL still in SD in Multisport?

Because it actually encourages you to check the link for each package. It says it is available in HD, but it also says "Restrictions may apply to availability. Games subject to local blackout. Games in high definition require HD television and HD receiver; fee may apply to upgrade. Subject to change without notice." That disclosure is VERY important. N/ow the link that was provided by zippyfrog is a different story, as it says the NHLHD is available in MSP. Big difference.

So its not misleading because there is a disclaimer saying they can change anything at any point without notice? Just because they technically covered themselves with a disclaimer doesn't mean they aren't being misleading.

The point is it feels weird for you to basically tell the OP it's their own fault for not doing their homework when people have shown you more than one place that makes it look like NHL Network HD is included in multi-sport. You shouldn't have to do homework to try to decipher whether the stuff listed on the website is true or not.

Only one person has showed something listed on a website that was untrue. Again, there is nothing untrue listed on the original link. It is assumed, and probably reasonably so, that HD is included in that pack, but nowhere does it say that HD is actually listed in that pack. As far as misleading, EVERYTHING in business is misleading, and yes, the consumer should do their homework or accept the consequences if it was not as assumed. If it is not blatantly put there, then it is not being told to you that is the case. ZippyFrog showed where it was BLATANTLY put out there. If we are going to talk about how people should not have to do their homework and how bad dish is with misleading, then you could come up with a better argument such as Dish and DTV new customer promotions and having two seperate websites for new and current customers. See how the difference starts to matter? If a consumer wants something, they better know exactly what they are getting. If a company tried to do that, and it went against what you said, you would tell them the same answer I am giving, so I am just giving it straight in both directions. I expect a company to serve me as expressly written in our agreement. Anything else that is not written in is not expected, and always nice to get. This is not limited to just my TV service, but also my home security, school, phone, internet and any other service provider.

So you do agree that it is misleading then. Before you said it was not. I agree with you that legally Dish is allowed to do basically anything they want when it comes to channels or pricing because they have the contract written in a way that allows that.

That just happens to be the reason I don't plan to ever sign a TV contract again though. The contracts only benefit the providers and there are alternatives that do not require them.

I agree that everything is written to sound like unicorns and rainbows. But no, I do not discourage the company from doing it. Think Maybelline. Just because you wear Maybelline make up, it is not going to make you look like a natural beauty. They are there to get your attention. The rest is up to you.

Well it looks like it worked. That NHL HD logo got a customer to sign up for multi-sport only to be disappointed with the product in the end. Mission accomplished.

That being said, the only thing that is going to help the OP at this point is canceling multi-sport and switching to AT 200. Continuing to argue here isn't going to help anyone so I will move on.

The funny part is the OP did do his homework, which "wasted the customer's time and the agent's time troubleshooting the receiver, etc." If information had been presented a bit more clearer, then all this wasted time and effort (including this thread) would have been avoided.

This is the one that I look at and think it is really misleading: https://www.mydish.com/filestream.ashx?ID=10726&inline=true

The PDF of the channel packages. Multi-sport pack is listed on the first page, and lists Fox Sports 2 in it as not HD (even though an HD feed is available in AT250). So in theory, shouldn't that be how NHL Network and NBA TV are marketed as well on the channel lineup PDF? No HD symbol next to them?
Wow, this one is even worse. Clearly states NHL is supposed to be in HD in MultiSports pack. Crazy!

Yeah, that PDF is known to be inaccurate, such as not listing ESPN News in HD and it says HBO2 West is in HD. But still, that PDF needs to be more accurate. The Multi-sport pack one is crazy inaccurate though.

First, why would the OP cancel Multi-Sport if he was getting it for free for three months? I would keep it as long as it didn't cost anything. Next, NBA TV was in free preview at the time the OP signed up for Multi-Sport, so that would explain why he was getting it in HD. Did we ever get any confirmation that NBA TV HD was actually added to Multi-Sport? Finally, it is really sad that the HD feeds of these channels are not included in every package that includes the SD feeds, since even Welcome Pack gets every available HD feed now.
