Does anyone know why whenever the Penguins are playing on the NHL Network the game gets blacked out for me in Cleveland. Surely the NHL did not black out the game in the entire country...To add to the I call Dish Network and they cant give me a correct answer, it appears the guys in India dont understand when I try to explain that I should be getting the game because I am not in Pittsburgh or Boston, so I cant watch the game on my regional channel...

I have no idea why you would be blacked out in Cleveland. But I do know that neither the CSR's nor the tech support group can help you. Their knowledge is limited to the "blackout rules" that they will gladly quote you. But they are incapable of correcting the blackout if it is not applicable to your area. In other words, they are capable of reading the rules but totally incapable of applying the rules or correcting a blackout error.

In the past, I have had NHL playoff games cut off in overtime because a new program which was to be blacked out in my area was supposed to begin. The new program didn't begin and all I got from my phone call was a reading of blackout rules and a claim that the blackout was out of Dish's control.

Good luck...

I would be tempted in your case to suggest you contact the Penguins offices or the NHL offices in New York and/or Toronto to find out the specific blackout area boundaries for the Penguins.

yeah, I was thinking the NHL was my next stop and the NHL Network because I am sure they are slightly different offices and personnel. It is so true how the CSRs just read their forms, they askk for my error number and then read off to me what they have for it. They could not conceive the thought the NHL would not black out a nationally televised game. That is like saying ESPN suddenly decided to only show last nights bowl game in Carolina and Idaho, it just ain't going to happen. The NHL Network is there to televise games nationally in the US or Canada it isn't going to just suddenly decide to black the game out, so the only thing I can think of is that there is a problem with the regions mistakenly thinking I am in Pittsburgh. UH, it is so aggravating, although the guy did allegedly credit me 10 dollars yesterday so that eased the pain slightly..
