NHL 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs

Kings are taking tonight's game very seriously. In after-skate interviews all had the mantra (most likely from Coach) that the 1st advance into the playoffs is the hardest to get. They expect a real fight if they are to win at home tonight and advance. :popcorn

OT question for you.

Aren't most Angels fans also Ducks fans and Kings fans are Dodgers fans?

How does it work out in So Cal?

This is how I also thought it worked in NY. The "old school" teams (Yankees/Giants/Knicks/Rangers) had one set of fans and the "expansion/relocation/merged" teams (Mets/Jets/Nets/Islanders and/or Devils) had another. I was set straight by several people that this was wrong years ago.

Friday's schedule

Maple Leafs at Bruins- 7:00pm ET (NHLN) Bruins lead series 3-1
Rangers at Capitals- 7:30pm ET (NBCSN) Series tied 2-2
Ducks at Red Wings- 8:00pm ET (CNBC) Ducks lead series 3-2
Blues at Kings- 10:00pm ET (NBCSN) Kings lead series 3-2

I've always thought that the 1st round was the hardest ...
If your a top team, your going up against a team that has nothing to lose and you just don't know what your gonna get from them.

Once you get to the 2nd round, you know the team in most cases and are ready ... from that point forward, they are all good teams.

Do not underestimate the importance of tonight's Capitals-Rangers game.....I know I'm not. IMO, both teams have realistic Stanley Cup aspirations, but only one will advance beyond the first round. With the series tied at 2, tonight's game 5 is obviously critical!

Red Wings 1, Ducks 0 under 1 minute left in the 1P ..

Wings get a Datsukian Goal !

Overall, I think the Wings controlled the majority of the period, had no goals to show for it till the last minute when Datsuk scored, but played with a lot of energy, played good D .... so far so good.

Great games tonight and could we be headed to some game 7's after tonight? Leafs vs Bruins already are and maybe Ducks and Red Wings and Blues vs Kings maybe :)

Wings got a goal on an odd bounce I think on thier last goal making it 3-1

That makes up for the one the Ducks got earlier ...

Jimmy Howard has played very well and the Defense has been much improved tonight.

They'll need the same type effort in California on Sunday night.
