Super Bowl champs goes against the Grey Cup champs??? Both leagues are aired in both Canada and the U.S. I just thought it would be interesting to see both league champions play to see who is the best between the two. CFL finishes out in November and since the NFL finishes out in February, why not the two play in March for the ultimate game?

What next Baseball world series champs against mexican baseball champs...CFL is minor league at best..perhaps the cfl could play against some of are better high school teams or maybe middle school(they might win)..

do u really think it would be much of a game? it would be like ohio state playing the litlte sisters of the poor in there own chapel( sorry, a old coach of mine use to say that, i think it means a miss match)

Only a person REALLY into the CFL would say such a thing, the rest of us don't think it would be good. What possible reason would the NFL have for doing this, and what reason would NFL players have for risking their multimillion dollar NON-GUARANTEED contracts to injury against the CFL? These guys have to be dragged to the Pro-Bowl anymore (another dumb idea that's time has passed...sorry hawaii...), let alone to play a completely meaningless game against a bunch of wannabe's...

Actually the idea of a summer exhibition game was flaored a few years ago. But as you can see nothing became of it.

CFL FOOTBALL or NO FOOTBALL for me
ill watch the nfl but complain the whole game cause its not the cfl:)
drey cup vs. super bowl would be interesting but probably a laugher cfl would kill nfl
similar to usa vs canada in wbl world baseball classic, goes to show how much money you make doesnt matter

agreed

Some people are under the impression that Canadian's play in this league, they are as many Americans that play in this league if not more as well.

something else, if Arena football folds, I would like to see some of those teams that did fair to begin with, franchise out in the CFL in the U.S., Football has more hold here now then say 10 or so years ago and I feel that CFL franchises in certain U.S. markets would go well.

updated my last post with more links as well.
Ottawa is without ownership this season and has been sidelined this season.

So lets just say they think about this CFL vs NFL game. Only problem is what rules do you play by? CFL or NFL?

some differences (for the uneducated)
CFL has wider field
CFL has a 110 yard field with 20 yd endzones
CFL has 12 guys per side
CFL has the goal posts at the goal line
CFL you can have multiple guys in motion and can run to the line
CFL you have to return a missed FG or give up a point
CFL you CANNOT fair catch <-----my favourite
CFL has 3 downs

I LOVE the CFL...the NFL is boring...too many tv timeouts...and I can see ALL the CFL games this year on CBC & TSN :D

coin toss ?

of course they would have to decide early enough so the other team can adapt to the differences in rules.
BTW Ice, thanks for posting the differences, I knew of two of them but not some of the others. :)

Do a google search. They HAVE played in the 50s and 60s. a sort of composite set of rules was used. It certainy COULD be done again. Heck the Old AFL and NFL had different rules and they stil managed to agree on rules for joint games. Ona smaller scale the ABA and NBA had the same situation. Even the AL and NL in baseball do but they work that out.

But the two leagues don't seem to be sufficiently incentivized to make it happen. After all there is really no way that the NFL team comes out ahead. If a CFL team beats tem they are embarrassed. If the CFL team even hangs in there they score a moral victory. And if the NFL team does what is expected and scores a lopsided victory they will be accused of running up the score on a poor helpless CFL team. and heaven forbid anyone on either side is hurt.

I don't see it happening---but not because it CAN'T happen. It can aand DID happen.
