I'd like to see it back at...if I remember correctly...$119 when I had it back '95 or '96. Or was it $69????
In another article that I read he was specifically talking about the on line version for non Directv subs. I wonder if this article is taking his remarks out of context
the price is soo high because they pay the nfl 1bill a year for the rights
just to break even they need almost 3mill people to get it
For Exclusive Rightsthe price is soo high because they pay the nfl 1bill a year for the rights
just to break even they need almost 3mill people to get it
I never saw that. Numbers might be high, but cash flow is most likly low.I thought the reported numbers showed they have gained or held steady in subs to the package?

I can only name about 2 bars in a 25 mile span I've seen ST. Its not as big anymore. Most people can't spend the money to sit in a bar to watch football and drink beer anymore.Actually this year directv is still paying $700,000,000.
2011-2014 its $1,000,000,000 per year.
Your #s are way off.
Bars, clubs, restaurants pay $1,000s for ST so the actual residential subs needed is less that 3 million.

It would cost me more then $350 to go to the bar Every Sunday during football season on food and beer. I might as well stay home.I agree that the profit margin is low, but I bet the IS a profit; just on the ST part alone. Not to mention the trickle down it has. Its a good business decision for them and I am sure they have run the numbers each and every way possible.
MLB EI is a Bargain .I agree that going to the bar each and every Sunday is no personal cost savings just to see the game, but I think their model is to compare it to buying a season ticket and the fact if YOUR team is not where you live and the fact it brings groups together at home; ST really is a bargain. Even at the current cost, but as with all things in life, its very dependent on one's personal situation.
