This is lame, why no pre-season games being broadcasted on NFL-ST?

But not all games will be live or for that matter broadcasted live.

NFL Network shows em all...most in HD. Not LIVE, but some are...

either way, i'm guessing their exclusive rights to show the pre-season games gives them a little more pull with cable operators...

who cares. i hate that to buy season tickets you have to buy pre-seasons games. FB is my fave but i dont know of nothing more useless ( other then my opinion) then pre- season FB

I believe that the preseason games are not under the purview of the NFL national TV contract -- they are the teams' to sell to whomever they wish and under whatever conditions they specify. Hence, the blackouts.

I understand 100% why they dont show games, but it would be nice if it was part of the package

i saw 2 games last night through the rsn's the jetsvs cleveland and the chiefsvs bears

Yep, RSNs show plenty of pre-season. The bottom line is this is a LEAGUE thing, not a cable, DBS issue and not sure why we always argue it here every season.

It's argued every year because of the desire to see FOOTBALL !!! and get the season started.

That said, I'm glad they play some preseason games, I think 4 is plenty, 3 would be sufficient, but I know the teams have to have enough time to evaluate the talent on thier teams....

1 - The NFL does not market the pre-season as a group, other than the few games on ESPN, NBC, Fox, and CBS. The individual teams own the rights to their pre-season games and market these themselves. NFLN buys rebroadcast rights to some of these games from the teams.

2 - The NFL pre-season is the most over-rated nothing in the sports year. A bunch of guys who WILL NOT BE ON THE TEAM in September playing for nothing.
