What would be the "added crap channels" you allude to?

Honestly I'm not sure that they have added anything worth me watching, is Viceland relatively new? someone brought up that I would be upset if they added channels and raised prices, my point is even if they did add channels they are more often than not channels I have no desire to watch but I lose channels that I watch all the time.

MavTV. NESN. But that said, they go up once a year. And if channels didn't cost more each year, even when not in a dispute, it goes up less. But they don't go up when they add a channel, until the annual price increase that everyone has does. Except from 2011-2013 when they locked the prices for 2 years. No one has done that. So I must disagree.

Dish doesn't have the greatest track record resolving these disputes, I'll give em time but not sure how patient I'm going to be especially the closer we get to football season.

What disputes have not been resolved over the last few years? Can't be many. Some cable companies STILL don't carry AMC or the Weather Channel after disputes. While DISH has disputes I would say the exact opposite, they have record of getting the channels back often quickly.

Most disputes are resolved within a week, sometimes the next day. They actually have a very good record of resolution. Yes, there are some that last a while but they are in the minority.

I'm a huge sports fan, so the disputes that affect me the most are the ones they have with sports networks, which typically don't get resolved within a week.

If you are that big of a sport fan, you should have known not to go with Dish in the first place. If they cater to any sport it would be college football, otherwise, so far as professional sports go, DirecTV has always been the leader with that.

Where I was living at the time my options were limited, besides who the hell are you to tell me what I should have gone with? For my situation at the time Dish was the right move but now may be time to move on.

I guess I just don't recall many disputes where the sports channel was gone long, recent history CSNNE that would affect only a small percentage of subscribers,(and had almost no posts missing it) past history the NY RSN's which again affect a small percentage of subscribers. Could be other regional ones I don't know about...

Didn't mean to piss in your Wheaties, settle down a little. You just sounded like you were a long time subscriber or were well aware of Dish's lack of sports and their history regarding programming disputes, thus the "you should have known" statement. My options are limited too, I can get programming from Dish or DirecTV. Not caring about sports, I like Dish fine, have had both, and stay with Dish for the equipment. If I was a sports fanatic though, I would probably be with DirecTV.

SNY, MSG are the two that bug me the most, Dish had ongoing issues with MLB and didn't carry that network for a while, now I lose NFL network and NFL redzone. Just because you guys don't care about those channels doesn't mean it can't bother me. I didn't tell anyone they should leave DISH I just said I'm CONSIDERING leaving is that a crime?

I don't reckon anyone said you were telling anyone to leave. I can tell you though, if I wanted those New York RSN's and liked professional football, I wouldn't stick around with Dish. They have a good product, but definitely not for the sports fan and especially in New York.

I've lived without SNY and MSG for a while so I could continue to do so, I said I'd give it some time but if it gets close to football season and. I thing changes I'm out.

SNY and MSG have not been on DISH for something like 6 years so they can't be too much of a loss to someone presently subscribing. If NESN was important and DISH dropped it with no intent of it coming back I would consider a switch of providers. (Though more likely I would VPN MLB online or only watch the Red Sox when I am at my Florida home) That's why there are choices in carriers. MLB is better online than from a carrier and DISH not having it really in today's world isn't a big thing unless you don't have internet, then I can see how it might be important. Also DISH had no issue with it related to a dispute, they lost money the last time they had it.
If in the end the NFL network does not come back and it's an important channel to you I would expect you would think about changing to another carrier. Chances are with Directv they would not challenge the NFL Network channel to the point of it going dark, and now having a surcharge (For me it would be about $6) they won't be dropping any RSN's, they can just increase the surcharge again as they did this year. And if you get their NFL package you can get the Red Zone though not separately.
