NFL DRAFT 2013

I like the guys at pro football weekly, I think they do a better job than both of them.

They are good there still,Mayock has been on the money for the last couple years.Heard some folks grumbling that he was guessing the picks on the air last night, after he had already heard through the grapevine, problem was his mock draft had already been made.Suppose he could have been lucky but,he does his homework, and just has great knowledge of player ability.

There were reporters on twitter tweeting the picks before they were announced on ESPN or NFL Net. Mike Silver & Jason Lacanfora were 2 of them that I saw. So I'm sure they knew. I know at some points they were 2 picks ahead of TV.

I'll just use this as an example, both Mayock and Kiper had Shariff Floyd 2 & 3 overall on their board. I watched every snap he took in college, I just didn't see him being dominant enough to warrant that, I think he went about were he should of. He's a good player, just not a top 5 pick.

Mayock studies these players through and through. He has a proven track record when it comes to knowing how to grade them.Kiper is just full of hot air.

Even though I'm not a big fan I'll take mayock any day over kiper. He's one irritating individual.

Richard Deitsch of Sports Illustrated reported that staffers at NFL Network and ESPN—the two networks who air the NFL draft on live TV—have been asked to curtail their tweeting during the telecast, as to not tip off their Twitter followers with picks before the commissioner has a chance to announce them.

Per Deitsch:

"Our fans have told us they would rather hear from the Commissioner and I think it is a better TV show when we speculate and let the Commissioner do it," said ESPN NFL senior coordinating producer Seth Markman, who oversees draft coverage for the network. "I have said in the past that [ESPN reporters] Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen can basically announce all the picks before they are made if they really wanted to. It goes against a lot of our instincts as journalists and it's totally different than anything I deal with, but we feel like it is a win for the fans and our viewers."

Everyone? Who Mayock & Kiper? There's a reason why they're not GM's and Jeff Ireland is an abject failure.

Go watch any Oregon game, than watch an LSU, TAMU, UCLA, BYU or even an FSU game and tell me this Jordan is the best pass rusher, Jordan is Mike Mamula redux. Another work out warrior.

OTHER than those two:

And the list goes on and on and on. But obviously you must know something I don't. Don't get so hooked on you SEC, there ARE other players in college football that are very good.;)

I had several websites, such as nfl.com,cbs,fox,etc,and even watching via satellite, the picks weren't shown any faster.I was very surprised.Figured there would be some lag with sat.

I'm going to make a bold prediction(unless he was already selected & I missed it),the Broncos will select QB Matt Barkley.

Well,so much for THAT prediction.

So the Philadelphia Eagles draft Matt Barkley, the NY Giants draft Ryan Nassib,& the Pittsburgh Steelers draft Landry Jones. Any thoughts?

My thoughts on Barkley coming to Philly,Foles days are numbered.I really like Foles too, wasn't too happy with the Barkley pick.I suppose the Midgets and Squeelers needed some solid backups on the cheap.

Obviously Kelly saw something he likes in Barkley.I'm not sure what though. He has good foot work, but isn't really a mobile QB,he's accurate, but doesn't have a strong arm.Foles is similar except he has a strong arm, maybe not as accurate. What baffles me,the Eagles had the chance to draft Geno (I'm glad they didn't) and then drafted Barkley.Time will tell I guess but,I don't like the move personally.

Tyler Bray and Matt Scott both went undrafted. Two very decent prospects imo.I would have preferred the Eagles to have selected one of them in the 7th instead of Barkley in the 4th.

Kelly coached against him the last 4 years so he probably knows what he's getting in him. He also coached against Foles so he probably knows his game fairly well, also. I think it was highway robbery getting him in the 4th. I think he was the best out of a very suspect lot of quarterbacks this year.
