NFL DirecTV Faced Revived Antitrust Suit

multiple telecasts of each game?? Do NFL teams want to go down the RSN route? or expand the preseason deals to TV deals with the LOCAL OTA Channels?

at the very least maybe kill the directv lock in and let cable try to offer it like MLB, NBA, NHL packagers.

There's no way the individual teams would even be interested in that. I don't see where the damage is being done here.

There is no other league that guarantees the home market will get free tv coverage of their teams. Nobody is being hurt by Sunday Ticket.

The 9th Circuit is, by far, the most reversed of the federal courts. Nothing will come of it, except another slap down by the USSC.

That's not true, don't believe everything Trump says. The 9th circuit has been reversed 76% of the time between 2008 and 2018. The 6th circuit in Ohio has been reversed 90% of the time during that period, and the 11th circuit in Atlanta has been reversed 78% of the time. The least reversed is the 1st circuit in Boston, reversed 50% of the time.

The Supreme Court only takes up cases where there is some dispute, i.e. they believe the circuit court got it wrong, or there are conflicting results in similar cases in different circuits. So while it sounds bad for the "best" circuit to be reversed 50% of the time, the Supreme Court doesn't take up cases when the circuit courts got it right. If you look at the total number of cases an appellate court rules on versus the number that are reversed by the Supreme Court they are tiny for all courts. The Supreme Court only grants about 1% of cases appealed to it from the circuit of appeals courts, so over 99% of their rulings are allowed to stand by the Supreme Court.

So if this decision to allow a class action to go forward is appealed to the Supreme Court, odds are very long it will be reversed. The overwhelming likelihood is that the Supreme Court would refuse the petition. That doesn't mean the class action will succeed, only that the case will be allowed to go forward in District Court.

Don't want to argue politics. You use statistics which, while accurate, cover a long period of to hide the recent history of the rogue 9th Circuit. Lets just leave it there and you can argue politics elsewhere with others.

In any event, the chances of this case ever resulting in any change to NFLST or any payments to anyone, is zero.

If you don’t want to argue politics don’t start with a statement that is politically charged

The Pit is closed for now, but that doesn't mean you can talk politics here. Don't go down that road please.
