Why didn't they wait for the Vikings season to be over to interview Leslie Frazier? (The assistant head coach/ defensive coordinator for the Vikings).
I heard he's looking to take the next step to be head coach. Frazier, IMO would be a much better hire than Gailey!

In five seasons with the Chargers, Marty took them to the playoffs twice, with a 0.000% winning record. This is with Drew Brees, LT, Merriman, et. al. on the roster.
But it was personal between A.J. Smith and Marty. Marty wanted his brother on the staff as DC after Wade Phillips left, along with his son Brian already there as QB coach. Marty just continued to tweak AJ up to his breaking point.
I don't know, I kinda feel like Norv has taken Marty's Chargers to the playoffs the last couple years.

No, this is a different team than Marty took into the playoffs. The only skill player holdovers are LT and Gates. IMHO, LT got more playing time then he deserved on Sunday.
With all the line injuries the Chargers had to deal with this year, and still managing a division championship, I believe this was Norv Turner's best coaching effort ever. If Jamal Williams had been in the lineup, the Jets running game wouldn't have been as effective.

The Chargers probably won't make the playoffs next year without a running game. LT rushing for 24 yards on 12 carries... and barely even played in the 4th quarter... they got their on the arm of Phillip Rivers best season if his career I think, and absent him topping that they probably don't go back.

The AFC West has been won by the same team the last 4 or 5 years in a row. Last year was the ONLY year since 2005 that it was close. Every year the Doltz have won by AT LEAST 2 games except in 2008-2009.

Other reports said the other day that Al Davis has already been searching for a new coach (with names like Steve Marriuchi being mentioned) while he builds his case to fire Cable with cause so that he doesn't need to pay him the rest of his contract.

Dan Patrick and Mike Florio talked this morning about coaching, and they think the hiring/firing is probably done for this offseason unless Al Davis finds someone to replace Tom Cable, otherwise he'd be retained for the 2010 season.
The Raiders denied they've been interviewing/discussing canidates, but reports still persist of the Raiders pursuing out Sanford's Jim Harbaugh while someone in Oakland does his best Iraqi Information Minister impression. The belief is anyone with options will opt not to pick the Raiders, unless they're given enough power within the organization, leaving candidates like Fassel more likely.
