Just to clarify, if someone wanted one of these with the beta code - - call and ask - - or would we load it after we order one?

Be happy to provide the beta firmware upgrade to anyone who buys and provides the serial number or sales invoice number. The firmware will have been tested to verify that it is stable, but it may have a few little inconveniences or hick-ups that we would love to know about!

The HDVR1200 is not yet posted on the Satellite AV website, but is available at Glorystar.tv.

Is the time-keeping of the HDVR1200 clock accurate when not tied to satellite time keeping? Does the time stay accurate through a power cycle? Is the time drifting at all? I'm talking about a power loss of a few seconds to maybe a minute.

Can I assign a Diseqc position number to a satellite, or are they randomly assigned like some other receivers?

If activated in Glorystar mode, the time keeping is referenced by Galaxy 19 Ku-band TP 11842. No other transponder or channel will adjust the local time. If activated in FTA mode, then the choice is to select GMT (referenced by tuned transponder). If GMT is selected OFF, the time remains accurate as long as power source is not interrupted. Power loss will result in the STB referencing GMT on the channel that was tuned at time of power loss. STB may be placed and cycled through standby mode and the time will remain accurate. Time is displayed in 12hr AM/PM mode.

63 DiSEqC 1.2 motor positions are user assigned.

Not going to go into many details until the firmware is publicly released for FTA. :coffee

diseqc v1.2 stores the sat positions in the motor, not the receiver. So you'll never find a receiver with pre assigned v1.2 locations. Are you thinking v1.2 (usals) thats based off your long/lat so thats user specific

Hello Brian,
I orderd one a week ago, and expect it to arrive any day. Where do I send my sales order info to get the beta software?

The DiSEqC 1.2 motor position is not stored in the STB, but the position reference or assignment number is. Example the receiver requests the motor to "go to position number 1". The motor or positioner / controller memory has memorized the positioning data saved for the requested position reference number and moves to that aiming coordinate.

Some receivers do not allow the end user to assign a specific DiSEqC 1.2 motor position number to a satellite. These receivers have the position number preassigned to each satellite. The GEOSATpro DSR100/200 was an example of a receiver with this preassigned motor position number for each satellite in the list.

The GEOSATpro microHD allows the user to assign one of the 99 available motor positions for a satellite. The GEOSATpro HDVR1200 allows the user to assign 1 of 63 available positions.

Wierd, didnt know that.

I dont do STB's. My first FTA was a Pansat 2700, hated it so much I sold it within a week and bought a dreambox, used them for awhile but they are all linux based so they are quite similar to pc's in many ways. I migrated over to PC's and used them since. About 6 years ago I gave up windows 100% and just wrote my own apps since then. So I know what the hardware is capable of, but Im a little out of touch with what and how stb's like todo things haha.

A few members asked for screenshots or video of the HDVR1200. Here is a video showing the receiver satellite list, TP deletion and blind scan of 58w C-band.

This is using a Novatek chipset, with upgrades to the default graphic package along with full screen signal meter, upgrade via satellite, etc.

The above graphic doesn't work (does not launch YouTube with file) on my iPhone.
(a known problem)
However, I saw the file name, and just used Search in the YouTube app to find:
Geosatpro hdvr1200

For as much of it as I watched, it was silent.
Narration would have been helpful.

Edit: at around 2:55 into the video, why does the date jump from 3rd to 4th?
.

For some reason the VO tracks did not render. Will re-render tomorrow

The Local Time was set to GMT - ON and the transponder that was being logged had an incorrect GMT reference.

Yep if you will watch, Anole, maybe on a computer when at home, the time and date change several times during the scan. ;)

Now - New and Improved with Audio Tracks.... Just for your enjoyment, Anole! :D

Very Good video. I thought the Jeopardy Theme Music was a nice touch!

Good work on the videos! Great picture quality, even on my poor speed dsl. Very interesting receiver, like the way it is working.

Nice receiver Brian. Not sure I'll put my Micro on the shelf just yet though. But if I didn't have a Micro this new one would be the one I'd go with.
?

Thanks for the kind words!

The GUI is pretty and the scan is fast, but personally, I am still using and prefer the microHD for my home unit as it has a much better SD picture quality, spot-on motor/switch control and I prefer the ability to watch/record/record up to the 3 channels on a transponder.

If one is doing a ton of blind scans, primarily watching HD content and don't DVR, then the HDVR1200 would be my STB preference.

Things are subject to change as the firmware development continues..... :popcorn

Not to take anything away from the new receiver, but I am very happy with my microHDs. As Brian noted, the DVR functions wonderfully, and the picture quality is exceptional.
