Next Generation Android Tablets

Acer announced a slew of upcoming tablets: Streak-size (4.8"), iPad-size (10") and DOA-size (7").

The interesting part is, Acer is waiting for Android 3.0, aka Honeycomb.
But spec-wise they are very impressive: dual-core Tegra CPU, the 7" has a 1280x720 resolution screen, etc.

Gives you a sense what to expect by April next year in tablet-land...

Looks interesting. I am sure that if I get a Galaxy Tab that it will be a generation behind in a few months, but I am willing to take that chance.

A few months? How about a few weeks? Word I get in the investors world is this whole Tablet paradigm shift is about to break wide open in 2011. Your only salvation, Mike is to have the comfort that as these new devices break the scene you will be enjoying your Galaxy doing all that you want. But to be safe in your decision, what I'd do is make a list of stuff you really want that the Galaxy doesn't have. If it is major, then maybe you better wait. If not you'll be as happy with it as I am with my iPAD for the past half year.

One thing you may consider, is LTE. Now, with the latest upgrade to the iOS, that would be my next 'must have' before I upgrade my ipad.

Acer will actually have two iPad-size tablets and one of them with an AMD CPU and 6000 series Radeon (!!)

Maybe this (AMD CPU) is the reason they wait for Honeycomb?
