Wednesday 9/27, Newtown Township (Bucks County, PA) approved an ordinance to allow Verizon to offer fiber optic cable service.

Service is expected to be available second quarter 2007.

where did you hear this?

I don't know what the big delay is, it was supposed to be out this fall.

I'm also in Newtown and ready for some competition for Comcast

Do any one know if Verizon wil be offering CSN?

Do any one know if Verizon wil be offering CSN in the Philly region? That would be a BIG selling point if they were able.

I've read on other sites that the rumor is they will have to offer CSN Philly du2 CSN philly broadcasts now via fiber where before it was microwave from teh old prism setup. If that is the case that Comcast will have to share CSN, they will lose their stranglehold on the tristate area. And hopefully create an atmosphere of competition and price wars.
