I've been on this earth for over 40 years. When did someone decide that TV anchors should give us 'news reports' on what happened last night on .........(insert any tv show here).

I've got a news flash for you.....IT'S NOT NEWS. It's nothing more than another commercial, but this time it's brought to you by Bob Shieffer or Brian Williams.

By the way, since I'm already worked up. I'm also tired of watching a show when all of a sudden the bottom of the screen is showing a promo for another show. For the love of ---, CUT IT OUT.

I don't know if this is what actually started this trend, but I first noticed it with the rising popularity of contest-type reality shows (American Idol, Survivor, etc) when each network would "cover" what happened on their own reality series. Like I care.
