Hello all,

My name is Tom and I'm a commercial A/V contractor that only occasionally puts up dishes (about 1 a month Direct/Dish) along with the systems that we're installing at the time.

Since they've come out, I've put in 10 or so Slimlines using a pre-programmed Bird Dog that I bought off a friend that left the business about 4 years ago. 119 & 101 always came in like a charm.

Recently I converted my own house over from Comcast video to DirecTv upon Comcast demanding my first born in exchange for Showtime.

The newer Slimline, as you're well aware, has a much more compact LNB but still 4 outputs. This was the first time I'd seen this newer LNB.

After the tech had the dish aligned, at my request, we put my meter on it and while I was able to get 101, 119 only showed up as a sort of shadow signal and never locked.

He had the same meter as me.

Yesterday I visited a job-site that I had previously installed a Slimline at and put my meter on it. 119 came in locked and strong.

So what gives? Im guessing a software update is required, but if so why?

Many thanks!
