Newbie usb question

I have searched but cannot seem to find the answer. We have a D* Phillips 6000R in the living room and a R10 in the bedroom. I notice both units have usb but the manuals say for future use. Is there a way to network these so as to watch programs from the R10 on the 6000R? Can either one of these ports output to a laptop? We have several computers networked wirelessly if that means anything. Can you tell I'm new to this? I seem to have heard that what I am asking is possible with the TIVO boxes but not the ones from D*. Any and all help greatly appreciated. Nice to find you guys..

usb is for future use......period, there is no software to support it

so the answers are no, no and no at this time
