newbie question

I am new to this forum so forgive my questions if they are annoying, i have a dish network dvr 510 and what i would like to do is be able to move video from my file server to the dvr so that i can use it as a media player, there are no usb ports but ther is an expansion port, can anyone direct me to some sort of info about this.

The expansion port is not used on the 510, there isnt anyway that I know of to download content into the receiver.
