Newbie question - USB port?

Just had my 522 installed yesterday through SBC and I was wondering what I could do with the USB port on the back. I tried hooking it up directly to my computer hoping XP would recognize something but no luck. Is their a driver or software out there I can install to be able to read from the receiver through the USB.

From what I've read on this forum, it sounds like you can't do anything with the USB port.

And yes, maximum is correct - like jsut about every other expansion port I've seen on an E* box, it's there for show only.

I've posted this before and I'll repeat it: It's there to get people to see it, go on the internet and find a satellite-related website, and ask "what's the USB port on my Dish receiver for ??".

The point is, and has been proven over and over, the future never comes to E*

You can use the USB on the directivos to watch shows on your pc now. It is called tivo desktop or something. It is a free upgrade to tivo subscribers.

The only thing I have heard anyone use the USB port on the back of the 522 for was to power a notebook cooler to help cool down the unit.
