Newbie needs help

Looking to purchase a Sat system in the next week or so. While I used to sell Direct TV for Rat Shack a decade ago I am now overwhelmed with the options available.

Are there any newbie FAQs here on the site? I am having trouble finding one. Im getting confused on most of these threads, I have no clue what D* E* etc etc means!

Ok I have found the glossary not sure how I missed it before.

Right now I am curious who has the best deal going. Opinions?

There area deals you can find throughout this site, but in essence, you have to make a choice what provider/service you want:

If you want things like MLB and NFL, then you go with Direct and look on here for current deals. On the other hand, if you want solely HD channels, then you can look at Dish's new packages. Either case, look on dishstore.net or contact them if you have questions.
