Newbie FTA question: I can't see these two sat's, right?

Hello folks. So I just recently became interested in FTA satellite, as I heard you can get a plethora of international programming. Looking on lyngsat.com, I see that there are quite a few clear,digital channels on the BSAT 1A and BSAT 2A satellite's.
Now, what I wanted to confirm with you folks that all know about this stuff is whether or not I can see these tow satellite's from the west coast of the US? I looked a the "what I can get" list, and sure enough they aren't on there. I am guessing those particular satellite's are just completely out of sight? (man I wish the earth was flat)


So, are there any other ways of getting some Japanese TV? (locals or premiums).

ImaginAsian http://www.iatv.tv/ on G10R has some Japanese programming, I'm pretty sure.

Otherwise, LyngSat's list of all Japan-origin FTA programming (http://www.lyngsat.com/freetv/Japan.html) appears to prove the negative.
